COD Toolkit by Breeze vs Payment Masterfor Shopify (2026)
COD Toolkit by Breeze and Payment Master both address payment management on Shopify, but target distinct needs. COD Toolkit focuses specifically on enhancing and controlling Cash on Delivery (COD) options. It allows merchants to manage COD more effectively by blocking payments based on rules (price ranges, location) and customizing the payment option's name for branding consistency. This caters to merchants who heavily rely on COD but require better risk management and brand control. Payment Master, on the other hand, offers a broader solution by enabling merchants to hide various payment methods based on products, collections, shopping cart contents, or specific customers. Furthermore, it allows for the implementation of payment surcharges. The core difference lies in their specialization. COD Toolkit is all about optimizing the COD experience, while Payment Master provides a more versatile approach to controlling the visibility and cost of various payment options. Choosing between them depends on whether a merchant's primary need is to refine COD management or to gain broader control over all payment methods and introduce surcharges. The current lack of ratings and reviews for Payment Master makes it difficult to assess its reliability and user satisfaction compared to COD Toolkit, which has a perfect 5/5 rating albeit from a small sample size.

Our Verdict
For merchants whose top priority is optimizing their Cash on Delivery (COD) process, especially those looking to reduce risk and tailor the COD experience, COD Toolkit by Breeze is the more suitable option. Its specific features are designed precisely for these needs. The app's positive (though limited) user feedback provides some reassurance about its reliability.
Payment Master caters to a broader audience who require more flexible control over which payment methods are visible to customers based on various factors like the products purchased, the customer type, or cart value. The ability to implement payment surcharges is a unique advantage. However, the absence of user reviews and ratings raises concerns about its performance and reliability. Therefore, merchants considering Payment Master should proceed with caution or look for demonstrations or testimonials from the app provider before installation.
