Stockist Store Locator vs Widgetic (Maps)for Shopify (2026)
Stockist Store Locator and Widgetic (Maps) both aim to help Shopify merchants integrate store locators into their websites, but they cater to different needs and operate on vastly different scales. Stockist positions itself as a comprehensive solution, offering a fully customizable and feature-rich store locator with robust analytics and ease of use, evident from its high rating and substantial number of reviews. This suggests a focus on larger businesses or those prioritizing advanced functionality and data-driven insights. Widgetic (Maps), on the other hand, appears to be a simpler, more basic solution focused primarily on embedding customizable Google Maps with custom markers. Its zero rating and lack of reviews suggests a newer app or one with limited adoption. The emphasis on custom marker images and UI customization indicates a target audience of merchants who prioritize visual aesthetics and have some technical proficiency, given the need for a Google API key. Its value proposition centers on basic store location display rather than comprehensive store management or analytics. The choice between them depends largely on the merchant's needs and technical ability.

Our Verdict
For Shopify merchants seeking a comprehensive, user-friendly store locator with advanced features like detailed analytics, robust customization options, and streamlined store management, Stockist Store Locator is the clear choice. Its strong rating and substantial number of reviews indicate a reliable and well-received solution.
However, for smaller businesses or merchants with limited technical expertise who simply want to embed a visually appealing Google Map with custom markers and are comfortable configuring a Google API key, Widgetic (Maps) might suffice, particularly if budgetary constraints are a significant factor. However, the lack of reviews and basic feature set suggest a significant trade-off in functionality and support.
