SortNHide vs TryOnify: Try Before You Buyfor Shopify (2026)
SortNHide and TryOnify: Try Before You Buy are two Shopify apps positioned within the 'Payment options - Other' category, but cater to very different needs and target audiences. SortNHide focuses on optimizing the checkout process by enabling merchants to customize payment and delivery options, apply discounts, and validate carts using rule-based logic. It emphasizes a smooth, smart, and secure checkout experience. TryOnify, on the other hand, provides a 'Try Now, Pay Later' service, allowing customers to try products before committing to a purchase, potentially boosting conversion rates and acquiring new customers. The primary difference lies in their approach to customer acquisition and checkout optimization. SortNHide aims to streamline the existing checkout flow and prevent issues like invalid carts or unwanted payment methods, enhancing operational efficiency and reducing abandonment. TryOnify, conversely, fundamentally alters the payment structure, offering a risk-free trial period that aims to attract customers who might be hesitant to purchase upfront. The ideal app choice depends on whether a merchant is prioritizing backend efficiency or a novel payment solution for customer acquisition.

Our Verdict
SortNHide is likely best for merchants already experiencing checkout friction, invalid orders, or needing granular control over payment and shipping options based on rules. Its strength lies in optimizing existing processes. However, the complete lack of reviews as of 2026 makes it a riskier choice.
TryOnify: Try Before You Buy is better suited for merchants looking for innovative ways to acquire new customers and reduce cart abandonment by addressing payment hesitancy. The 'Try Now, Pay Later' approach can be particularly effective for products with high perceived risk or uncertainty. The existing positive reviews, although few in number, offer some initial reassurance compared to SortNHide's unproven status.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to set up?
TryOnify's description emphasizes 'Quick & easy setup', suggesting it may be simpler to implement initially. However, SortNHide might require a more complex setup process if configuring numerous rules for payment and delivery.
Which app is better for preventing fraud?
While neither app explicitly mentions fraud prevention, SortNHide's 'accurate, rule-based checkout validation' could potentially help identify and block fraudulent orders by enforcing address verification or other criteria. TryOnify's automatic credit card authorizations also act as a first line of defense.
Which app will have a more immediate impact on sales?
TryOnify is more likely to produce an immediate positive impact on sales due to its 'Try Now, Pay Later' offering, which directly addresses a key reason for cart abandonment. SortNHide's impact on sales is more indirect, through improved checkout conversion rates after optimization.
How are the apps priced?
Pricing information is not provided for either app, making it difficult to compare the financial implications of choosing one over the other. Further research is needed to determine their respective pricing models.
Can these apps be used together?
Potentially, yes. A merchant could use SortNHide to fine-tune the checkout experience and validation rules, then offer TryOnify as a payment option to further incentivize purchase. However, careful consideration must be given to ensure both apps integrate seamlessly and do not conflict with each other.
