Smart Stories | Video Story vs Whatmore Shoppable Videos+Reelfor Shopify (2026)
Smart Stories | Video Story and Whatmore Shoppable Videos+Reel both aim to enhance Shopify stores with engaging video experiences, but they cater to slightly different merchant needs. Smart Stories focuses on creating and publishing various story formats directly within the app, providing templates and tools for customization, including shoppable elements. It seems better suited for merchants who want complete control over creating bespoke video content, including UGC, product demos, and branded stories directly from their Shopify store assets. Whatmore, on the other hand, emphasizes the seamless integration of content from platforms like Instagram Reels and TikTok, leveraging AI to automatically tag products. Whatmore targets merchants who want to effortlessly integrate existing social media video content into their Shopify store, especially those already actively using platforms like Instagram and TikTok for marketing. The app's AI-powered product tagging and auto-sync features significantly reduce manual effort, making it appealing to merchants who prioritize automation and maximizing the use of their existing social media assets. While Smart Stories offers a more manual, creative-control focused approach, Whatmore streamlines the process of repurposing social media content for e-commerce.
