Sidr ‑ Sales Tax Automation vs Taxdoo ‑ VAT & Accounting toolfor Shopify (2026)
Sidr ‑ Sales Tax Automation and Taxdoo ‑ VAT & Accounting tool both aim to simplify tax compliance for Shopify merchants, but they cater to distinct needs and geographies. Sidr focuses exclusively on US sales tax, offering a fully managed solution encompassing nexus tracking, registration, reporting, and automated filing. Its key selling point is comprehensive automation, designed for merchants seeking a hands-off approach to US sales tax obligations. Taxdoo, on the other hand, appears to be a more generalized VAT and accounting tool, implying a broader scope that extends beyond the US market. However, the limited information available makes it challenging to fully assess its feature set compared to Sidr's detailed offering. Sidr's high rating and substantial number of reviews suggest strong user satisfaction within its target market.

Our Verdict
For Shopify merchants exclusively concerned with US sales tax compliance and seeking a fully automated, hands-off solution, Sidr ‑ Sales Tax Automation is the clear choice. Its 5-star rating and many reviews, along with its specific focus on US sales tax, indicate a reliable and well-regarded solution. Taxdoo, while potentially useful for merchants needing broader VAT or accounting support, lacks the clear US-centric focus and demonstrable user satisfaction that Sidr possesses for the specific task of US sales tax management. Given the limited information on Taxdoo, further investigation would be needed to determine its suitability beyond generalized VAT functionalities.
