SavedBy Package Protection vs XStak OMSfor Shopify (2026)
SavedBy Package Protection and XStak OMS both aim to improve the post-purchase experience for Shopify merchants, but they address very different problems. SavedBy focuses specifically on package protection, offering customers the option to insure their shipments against loss, theft, or damage, thereby shifting the risk and associated costs away from the merchant. This app's strength lies in its ability to increase customer confidence, retain revenue, and reduce customer support burden related to shipping issues. XStak OMS, on the other hand, is a comprehensive order management system designed to streamline order processing, inventory management, and returns. It promises a unified customer experience and aims to optimize overall operations. While both apps fall under the 'Orders - Other' category on Shopify, their core functionalities and target audiences diverge significantly. SavedBy is ideal for merchants concerned about shipping-related customer service issues and looking for a way to outsource that responsibility while retaining revenue. XStak OMS is better suited for businesses seeking a holistic solution to manage their order flow and inventory across multiple channels, focusing on efficiency and scalability. The number of reviews also suggests a higher level of familiarity and adoption for SavedBy, at least at the time of data collection, though both have excellent average ratings.

Our Verdict
For merchants primarily concerned with mitigating the risks and costs associated with shipping errors (lost, stolen, or damaged packages) and improving customer confidence in delivery, SavedBy Package Protection is the more appropriate choice. It allows merchants to focus on sales and product development while offloading the burden of resolving shipping issues.
However, if a merchant requires a comprehensive solution to manage their entire order lifecycle, from order placement to fulfillment and returns, especially with distributed inventory or omnichannel sales, then XStak OMS is the better option. It offers a broader set of features designed to improve operational efficiency and provide a unified customer experience. The choice depends on the specific pain points and priorities of the business.
Common Questions
What happens if a customer's package is lost? How do these apps compare?
With SavedBy, the customer files a claim with SavedBy, who then handles the refund or re-order, paying for it themselves. XStak OMS provides tools for tracking the order and managing the return/refund process within its system, but the merchant is responsible for the financial resolution.
Does SavedBy manage inventory? What about XStak OMS?
SavedBy focuses on protecting packages. It doesn't directly manage inventory. XStak OMS includes Distributed Inventory Management as a key feature, offering accurate tracking to prevent stockouts and overstocking.
Which app is easier to use and install?
Without user testimonials or specific interface details, it's impossible to definitively say which is easier. However, given SavedBy's narrower focus, it's plausible that it has a simpler setup process than XStak OMS, which aims to integrate with multiple systems.
Which app is more likely to increase revenue?
SavedBy claims to increase revenue by increasing conversion and loyalty, and by placing new orders on behalf of the merchant after a shipping issue. XStak OMS aims to increase revenue indirectly by optimizing order processing and improving customer satisfaction, leading to repeat business.
Are there any overlapping features between the two apps?
Both apps contribute to improving the overall post-purchase customer experience, but they do so in different ways. While XStak OMS touches on the return process (which might involve lost/damaged goods - the area where SavedBy shines), there aren't any other directly overlapping features based on the data provided.
