Rubik Variant Images & Swatch vs Varia ‑ variants on collectionfor Shopify (2026)
Rubik Variant Images & Swatch and Varia ‑ variants on collection are both Shopify apps dealing with product variants, but they address entirely different aspects. Rubik Variant Images & Swatch focuses on improving the product page experience by displaying specific images and swatches corresponding to the selected variant, aiming to reduce returns and increase conversion rates by providing clearer visual information to the customer. Its strength lies in its ability to manage variant-specific images and swatches efficiently, making it suitable for merchants selling products with multiple visual variations like colors or patterns. Varia - variants on collection, on the other hand, improves product discoverability on collection pages. This approach is particularly beneficial for stores with products that have many variants (e.g., clothing available in many colors and sizes) and want to give each variant individual exposure on category pages. The app's core strength lies in expanding product visibility on collection pages, offering more options directly to the customer and enhancing the browsing experience.

Our Verdict
Choosing between Rubik Variant Images & Swatch and Varia depends entirely on the merchant's specific needs. If the primary goal is to improve the product page experience and reduce returns by providing clear and accurate visual information about variants, then Rubik Variant Images & Swatch is the better choice. The higher rating and larger number of reviews suggest a more polished and reliable experience.
However, if the priority is to increase product visibility and drive sales by showcasing individual variants directly on collection pages, then Varia is the more suitable option. While its rating is slightly lower and it has fewer reviews, its core functionality addresses a different and equally important aspect of product presentation. For shops that struggle to attract customers to individual product pages due to overwhelming variant options, Varia can be an effective tool.
