RT: Smooth Scroll To Top vs Smart Product Filter & Searchfor Shopify (2026)
RT: Smooth Scroll To Top and Smart Product Filter & Search both enhance store navigation, but target drastically different user experiences and merchant needs. Smooth Scroll To Top addresses a basic usability issue by adding a 'scroll to top' button and optional progress bar, primarily benefiting stores with lengthy pages lacking built-in functionality. It focuses on micro-interactions, improving how visitors navigate *within* a single page. In contrast, Smart Product Filter & Search is a comprehensive solution for product discovery, offering advanced filtering, AI-powered search, and product recommendations, aimed at helping shoppers find the *right product* across the entire store. The key distinction lies in their core functionalities. One aims to improve the ease of navigating long content on a page, while the other focuses on streamlining the product search and filtering process across the entire catalog. While both technically fall under 'Search and navigation,' their scales and impacts on conversion are very different. Smart Product Filter & Search provides robust analytics to track customer behavior related to search and filtering. This is a crucial advantage for merchants looking to gain actionable insights and optimize their product presentation. Smooth Scroll to Top offers customization options for the button's appearance, ensuring it integrates seamlessly with the store's design.

Our Verdict
For merchants needing a basic 'scroll to top' function due to theme limitations, RT: Smooth Scroll To Top is a simple and likely effective solution. However, its impact is limited to minor usability improvements. Smart Product Filter & Search is the superior choice for businesses with a large inventory that want to dramatically improve the customer's shopping experience. The AI-powered search, advanced filtering capabilities, and detailed analytics make it a powerful tool for boosting sales and understanding customer behavior.
Unless your store *specifically* lacks a scroll-to-top button, Smart Product Filter & Search offers far greater value and broader impact. The sheer number of reviews, albeit slightly lower in average rating, suggests a more robust and widely-used product addressing a more significant pain point for a larger segment of merchants.
