Proxy WordPress Blog vs Sclips Shoppable Videos Reelsfor Shopify (2026)
Proxy WordPress Blog and Sclips Shoppable Videos Reels are both Shopify apps that fall under the 'Content' category, but they cater to vastly different needs and target audiences. Proxy WordPress Blog aims to seamlessly integrate a WordPress blog into a Shopify store's subdirectory, focusing on SEO benefits and content consolidation. Its strength lies in maintaining existing WordPress infrastructure while boosting organic visibility within the primary Shopify domain. Sclips Shoppable Videos Reels, on the other hand, focuses on visual commerce through the integration of short-form video content such as Instagram Reels and TikTok videos directly into the Shopify store. The key difference lies in the type of content they handle: Proxy WordPress Blog deals with long-form blog content, while Sclips focuses on short-form, engaging video content. Proxy WordPress Blog is targeted towards merchants who already have a WordPress blog and want to leverage its existing SEO and content within their Shopify store. Sclips Shoppable Videos Reels is targeted towards brands looking to enhance user engagement, conversion rates, and sales through visually appealing and easily shoppable videos. Its strength lies in its focus on modern video formats and its integrations with social media platforms.

Our Verdict
For merchants with an established WordPress blog and a focus on SEO and long-form content, Proxy WordPress Blog is the more suitable choice. It allows them to seamlessly integrate their existing content and maintain their search engine rankings within their Shopify store. However, given the relatively low number of reviews in 2026, merchants might also consider exploring other WordPress integration options with more proven track records.
If the primary goal is to enhance user engagement, boost conversion rates, and leverage the power of short-form video content, Sclips Shoppable Videos Reels is the better option. Its integration with platforms like TikTok and Instagram Reels, combined with its focus on shoppable videos, makes it ideal for brands looking to tap into the growing trend of video commerce. The higher rating and larger number of reviews suggest it's a more established and well-received app for this purpose.
Common Questions
Which app is better for improving my store's SEO?
Proxy WordPress Blog is specifically designed to improve SEO by consolidating your WordPress blog onto your Shopify domain, potentially boosting your rankings. Sclips focuses on engagement and sales, but its videos may indirectly benefit SEO through increased time on site and lower bounce rates.
I don't have a WordPress blog. Which app is right for me?

Will either of these apps slow down my Shopify store?
Sclips Shoppable Videos Reels explicitly claims 'No Impact on Store Speed'. Proxy WordPress Blog doesn't mention speed directly, but improper implementation of a proxy can sometimes affect performance, so careful setup might be required.
