Productly vs VDB Ring Creatorfor Shopify (2026)
Productly and VDB Ring Creator are both Shopify apps in the 'Sourcing options - Other' category, but cater to vastly different needs and merchants. Productly aims to streamline product listing and content creation using AI. Its primary strength lies in automating tasks such as generating product descriptions, sourcing images, and writing blog articles, targeting merchants seeking to save time and effort in content creation and SEO. Its current reviews are extremely low. VDB Ring Creator, on the other hand, focuses on enabling merchants to offer customizable ring design experiences to their customers. By combining owned and virtual inventory, it significantly expands product offerings without the burden of holding extensive physical stock. Its strength lies in providing an engaging and interactive shopping experience, ultimately boosting customer confidence and conversions for merchants specifically in the jewelry sector. The ratings and review counts indicate a much more positive user experience. The stark difference between the two apps lies in their functionality: one automates content creation, while the other facilitates interactive product customization.

Our Verdict
For merchants needing to quickly populate their store with product descriptions and blog content, Productly *could* be an option, but the extremely low ratings should give a significant pause. The app description advertises a powerful tool to streamline a typically time-consuming task. However, VDB Ring Creator is the clear recommendation for jewelers looking to elevate the customer experience and expand their ring offerings. The positive ratings and features like virtual inventory and 3D previews suggest a well-developed and valuable tool specifically for the jewelry market.
Given the choice in 2026, and assuming no significant changes in rating or reviews, most merchants would likely find VDB Ring Creator to be a more reliable and valuable investment, especially if they are in the business of selling rings or jewelry. Productly's significantly lower rating and low review count raise serious concerns about its reliability and effectiveness.
