POS Variable Priced Products vs WaveSoft Discountfor Shopify (2026)

POS Variable Priced Products and WaveSoft Discount serve fundamentally different purposes for Shopify merchants. POS Variable Priced Products focuses on enabling variable pricing *within* the Shopify POS system, catering to businesses that require flexible pricing at the point of sale (e.g., florists, vintage shops). It allows for adjusting prices, costs, and margins during the sale, while maintaining inventory tracking and consistent reporting. In contrast, WaveSoft Discount addresses the issue of hidden discounts, aiming to improve conversion rates by displaying sale prices directly on product pages and collections. WaveSoft Discount is built around improving the customer's shopping experience online by ensuring discounts are visible from the moment the customer views a product. It focuses on optimizing online sales through discount visibility. POS Variable Priced Products, however, concentrates on the operational needs of brick-and-mortar stores by providing POS-specific pricing adjustments and reporting functionalities. The target audiences and core functionalities are therefore distinctly different, making a direct head-to-head comparison somewhat challenging beyond basic metrics like ratings.
