Our Verdict
If a merchant is primarily concerned with improving their store's SEO, search engine ranking, and overall site navigation, especially in organic search, then PH Breadcrumbs is the more suitable choice. The focus on JSON+LD schema and breadcrumb hierarchy directly addresses these needs. Conversely, if the primary goal is to increase sales by promoting product discovery and cross-selling, then Recomatic Related Products is the better option. Its AI-driven recommendations and sales tracking make it a powerful tool for conversion optimization. A store that needs both may want to use both apps or search for a single app that combines both SEO and related product features.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to set up?
PH Breadcrumbs claims 'easy, fast setup', while Recomatic Related Products mentions adding related products 'directly from the theme editor'. Both suggest relatively straightforward installation, but PH Breadcrumbs' claim is slightly more direct about its initial setup being quick.
Does PH Breadcrumbs directly increase sales like Recomatic Related Products?
While improved SEO and navigation from PH Breadcrumbs can indirectly lead to increased sales, it's not its primary function. Recomatic Related Products is designed explicitly to boost sales by highlighting related products.
Which app offers better reporting and data analysis?
Recomatic Related Products offers detailed conversion tracking and reporting on the performance of its related product recommendations. PH Breadcrumbs does not explicitly mention any reporting features.
Which app requires more ongoing maintenance?
Recomatic Related Products might require more ongoing maintenance due to its reliance on sales data and product attributes, which could change over time, potentially necessitating adjustments to the recommendation logic. PH Breadcrumbs, based on menu structure, may require less frequent updates unless the menu structure itself changes significantly.
Which app is better for a brand new Shopify store with limited sales data?
PH Breadcrumbs might be a more immediately useful solution for a brand new store. Recomatic Related Products thrives on sales data to make informed recommendations, which may be limited or nonexistent for a new store. In that case, configuring Recomatic with manual curation might be needed until enough sales data is generated.
