PayWhirl Subscriptions vs Salepify Free Gift BOGO Giftsfor Shopify (2026)
PayWhirl Subscriptions and Salepify Free Gift BOGO Gifts, while both listed in the 'Upsell and cross-sell' category on Shopify, serve distinctly different purposes. PayWhirl is designed for merchants looking to implement and manage subscription-based products or services. It focuses on recurring revenue, customer retention through features like churn tracking and automated payment retries, and provides robust tools for customizing subscription plans. The app highlights its US-based support and ease of use, particularly its drag-and-drop interface. Salepify, on the other hand, centers around increasing average order value (AOV) through free gift promotions and cart upsells. Its features are geared towards incentivizing customers to spend more by offering free gifts based on purchase quantity, order value, or specific product combinations (BOGO). The app emphasizes customization of free gift displays and rewards customers with free shipping or discounts as they reach cart progress milestones. Therefore, the key difference lies in their revenue model: PayWhirl focuses on subscriptions, while Salepify focuses on immediate AOV increases through promotional offers.

Our Verdict
Merchants should choose PayWhirl if their primary goal is to build a subscription-based business model with recurring revenue. Its features cater to long-term customer relationships and subscription management. On the other hand, Salepify is the better choice for stores aiming to boost average order value and quickly move inventory through promotional offers like free gifts and buy-one-get-one deals. While both apps can contribute to revenue growth, they address different aspects of the sales process and cater to different business needs. Salepify is great for seasonal promotions or clearing out excess inventory, while PayWhirl is built for sustained subscription revenue.
