OTP Login with Phone vs PayU CommercePro Checkoutfor Shopify (2026)
OTP Login with Phone and PayU CommercePro Checkout both aim to streamline the login and checkout process using OTP verification. However, their focus and customer reception differ significantly. OTP Login with Phone emphasizes comprehensive OTP-based account management, allowing customers to register and log in via phone or email OTP, with extensive customization options for OTP settings, account field management, and integration with SMS providers. This app seems designed for merchants looking for a fully customizable and robust OTP login solution. PayU CommercePro Checkout, on the other hand, positions itself as a solution primarily focused on faster checkouts, reducing return-to-origin (RTO) rates, and improving conversion rates. It features seamless OTP login and pre-filled addresses for returning customers. Given its name, it's likely linked to PayU's payment gateway services, possibly offering tighter integration. The vastly different rating and review counts suggest widely disparate levels of customer satisfaction and platform stability. PayU CommercePro Checkout's low rating raises concerns about its reliability and functionality. Therefore it is likely that it would be best used if integrated with the PayU payment processor. Based on the available information, it appears that OTP Login with Phone prioritizes a complete OTP account management experience while PayU CommercePro Checkout is more focused on checkout optimization with a possible dependency on PayU payment processing. Both fall within the “Accounts and Login” Shopify app category.

Our Verdict
Given the substantial difference in ratings and review counts, OTP Login with Phone appears to be the safer and more reliable choice for most Shopify merchants in 2026. Its comprehensive feature set and positive user feedback indicate a stable and well-supported app. Merchants who need a highly customizable and secure OTP-based login experience should strongly consider OTP Login with Phone.
PayU CommercePro Checkout might be suitable for merchants heavily invested in the PayU payment ecosystem and specifically targeting faster checkout processes, provided they carefully evaluate the app's functionality and customer support given its very low rating. However, the risks associated with a 1-star rating should not be ignored, and thorough testing and careful monitoring are crucial if choosing this app.

Which app offers more flexibility in customizing the OTP process?
OTP Login with Phone provides significantly more customization options, including setting OTP expiry times, controlling resend button behavior, and customizing account field labels and text.
