OTP Login with Phone vs ∞ Password Page + Lock Pagesfor Shopify (2026)
OTP Login with Phone and ∞ Password Page + Lock Pages address fundamentally different security and access control needs on a Shopify store. OTP Login with Phone focuses on streamlining and securing the customer login/registration process by replacing traditional passwords with one-time passwords sent via SMS or email. This improves user experience by simplifying login and enhancing security by reducing the risk of password-related vulnerabilities. It targets merchants looking to offer a faster, more secure customer login process, especially those dealing with sensitive customer data. ∞ Password Page + Lock Pages, on the other hand, offers granular control over content access, allowing merchants to restrict specific pages, products, or collections behind passwords. This is ideal for B2B stores, VIP access areas, or managing access to event landing pages. It prioritizes restricting access to content rather than securing the general login process.

Our Verdict
For merchants focused on improving the security and convenience of customer login and registration, OTP Login with Phone is the clear choice. Its focus on OTP login, customizable settings, and integration with SMS providers make it well-suited for businesses that prioritize a seamless and secure customer experience. However, if the primary need is to restrict access to specific content, such as B2B catalogs or VIP sections, ∞ Password Page + Lock Pages is the better option. Its easy-to-use page locking functionality and compatibility with all themes make it ideal for merchants needing granular access control without complex development.
Common Questions
Which app is better for securing my entire Shopify store?
Neither app secures the *entire* store directly. OTP Login with Phone secures the *login* process, which protects customer accounts. ∞ Password Page + Lock Pages secures *specific* pages, products, or collections, not the whole store.
Can I use both apps simultaneously on my Shopify store?
Yes, you can use both. OTP Login with Phone will handle secure customer authentication, and ∞ Password Page + Lock Pages can restrict access to certain areas or products for specific customer segments or purposes. They address different needs, so they should not conflict.
Which app is easier to set up and use?
∞ Password Page + Lock Pages is likely easier to set up initially, requiring just a one-click password addition. OTP Login with Phone involves more configuration for OTP settings and provider integration, although the description states customizable settings.
Does either app support multi-factor authentication (MFA)?
OTP Login with Phone offers a form of MFA by requiring a one-time code sent to a user's phone or email in addition to their username or email address, effectively adding a second factor of authentication. ∞ Password Page + Lock Pages does not inherently provide MFA.
Which app is better for a B2B Shopify store?
∞ Password Page + Lock Pages is the better option for B2B stores. It allows you to restrict access to wholesale catalogs or special pricing pages based on customer tags or login status, controlling which customers can view specific content.
