Opus Cart Upsell Cart Drawer vs RS: Smart Search Bar & Filterfor Shopify (2026)
Opus Cart Upsell Cart Drawer and RS: Smart Search Bar & Filter both aim to improve the customer experience on Shopify, but they tackle very different parts of the sales funnel. Opus focuses on optimizing the cart experience to increase AOV and reduce cart abandonment. It achieves this through upsells, cross-sells, free gifts, and urgency timers. RS, on the other hand, concentrates on product discovery and navigation, improving the search experience with AI and providing robust filtering options. The primary distinction lies in their functionality: Opus enhances the cart and checkout phase, targeting customers already considering a purchase, while RS improves the initial shopping and browsing phase, guiding customers to find products they may not have otherwise discovered. Opus aims to maximize the value of each transaction, while RS aims to increase the likelihood of a transaction occurring in the first place. Merchants should evaluate which aspect of their customer journey needs the most attention.

Our Verdict
If your primary goal is to maximize the value of existing customer orders and combat cart abandonment, Opus Cart Upsell Cart Drawer is the better choice. Its robust upsell and cross-sell features, coupled with abandoned cart analytics, are designed to boost AOV and recover lost sales.
However, if you struggle with product discoverability or have a large inventory where customers have trouble finding what they need, RS: Smart Search Bar & Filter offers a more effective solution. Its AI-powered search and advanced filtering capabilities will dramatically improve the customer experience, leading to more conversions by connecting shoppers with the products they desire. Merchants with smaller catalogs and less complex product attributes may find that RS's advanced features are overkill.
