Opus Cart Upsell Cart Drawer vs Payflow: COD & Payment Methodsfor Shopify (2026)
Opus Cart Upsell Cart Drawer and Payflow: COD & Payment Methods are both Shopify apps operating within the 'Checkout' and 'Cart customization' categories, but they address fundamentally different aspects of the e-commerce experience. Opus focuses on maximizing Average Order Value (AOV) and driving conversions through upselling, cross-selling, and leveraging psychological triggers like urgency and rewards. It's geared towards merchants looking to actively increase revenue from existing traffic by optimizing the cart experience. Payflow, conversely, addresses payment and delivery method customization, with a strong emphasis on streamlining Cash on Delivery (COD) processes and providing merchants with granular control over how payment and delivery options are presented to customers. Opus aims to create a more persuasive and dynamic shopping cart, whereas Payflow focuses on optimizing the backend checkout flow to provide flexibility in handling payments and delivery options. Opus seems to target a broader range of merchants looking for AOV improvements. Payflow targets a narrower merchant segment needing advanced control of payments, especially when COD is offered or required.

Our Verdict
The choice between Opus Cart Upsell Cart Drawer and Payflow: COD & Payment Methods depends heavily on the specific needs of the Shopify merchant. If the primary goal is to boost Average Order Value through strategic upsells, cross-sells, and promotional offers, Opus is the clear choice. Its feature set directly addresses AOV improvement and cart abandonment recovery.
However, if the merchant requires robust control over payment and delivery options, particularly for managing Cash on Delivery or tailoring payment methods based on various conditions (order total, customer location, etc.), then Payflow is the more suitable option. It's geared towards optimizing the checkout process for specific payment scenarios, which Opus does not address. While Opus has a slightly higher rating and significantly more reviews, suggesting broader appeal, Payflow fulfills a niche need exceptionally well.
