OpenFiskal TSE & RKSV for POS vs Shoplàfor Shopify (2026)
OpenFiskal TSE & RKSV for POS and Shoplà both address aspects of selling in person through Shopify, but cater to fundamentally different needs. OpenFiskal is a highly specialized app focusing on legal compliance for Point of Sale (POS) systems in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland (DACH region). It ensures adherence to KassenSichV and RKSV regulations by providing features such as QR code signing on receipts, automatic Z-reports, and specific data exports required for audits. Shoplà, on the other hand, is a broader marketing tool aiming to increase visibility for local businesses. It creates a digital shop window, listing products on a map-based platform, driving customers to either the online store or the physical location. The key difference lies in their purpose. OpenFiskal is about regulatory compliance and streamlining accounting processes specifically within the DACH region for businesses using Shopify POS. Shoplà aims to boost sales and customer acquisition by improving the discoverability of products and store locations in a geographic area. While both have perfect 5-star ratings, OpenFiskal has significantly more reviews (37 compared to Shoplà's 1), suggesting a larger and possibly more established user base, or a more pressing need amongst its target audience. The choice between them depends entirely on whether the merchant's primary concern is legal compliance in the DACH region or broader local marketing.

Our Verdict
For Shopify POS merchants operating in Germany, Austria, or Switzerland, OpenFiskal TSE & RKSV for POS is the clear choice if compliance with KassenSichV and RKSV regulations is a priority. Its features are tailored to meet those specific requirements, offering peace of mind and streamlining accounting processes. Shoplà would not be a substitute for this.
However, for merchants seeking to improve local visibility and attract more customers to their store (online or physical), Shoplà offers a compelling solution. If the merchant is not within the DACH region, or their POS isn't their main concern, they should consider Shoplà. While both apps have perfect ratings, the lower number of reviews for Shopla needs to be considered. Ultimately, the 'best' app depends on the merchant's specific needs and priorities.
