Our Verdict
For Shopify Plus merchants operating in the B2B sector, Onboard B2B: Company Profiles is the clear choice. It provides specialized features designed to simplify onboarding, manage company profiles, and control access to the store. Its focus is laser-targeted on the unique needs of wholesale businesses using Shopify's B2B functionalities. On the other hand, SyncBase Airtable Instant Sync is better suited for merchants needing a flexible and powerful data management solution that integrates with Airtable. Common Questions
Which app is easier to set up?
SyncBase likely offers a quicker initial setup thanks to its 1-click installation and pre-made templates. Onboard B2B may require more configuration to customize the application form and approval flows to the merchant's specific B2B requirements.
Can I use both apps together?
Potentially, yes. Onboard B2B could manage B2B-specific data, and SyncBase could synchronize that data (via metafields) into Airtable for reporting or further processing. However, this would require careful planning and may lead to complexity.
Which app is more scalable?
SyncBase, by leveraging Airtable, likely offers greater scalability for managing large datasets and complex workflows. Airtable itself is designed to handle a significant amount of data, while Onboard B2B's scalability would depend on Shopify's B2B infrastructure.
What kind of support do these two apps offer?
Onboard B2B's description implies standard support for its specific features. SyncBase advertises 'Studio' support, meaning they offer hands-on assistance in creating PIM, ERP, OMS, or other custom workflows. If you require significant customization or build-out assistance, SyncBase's Studio feature is a major differentiator.
What if I'm not a Shopify Plus Merchant?
Onboard B2B relies on native Shopify Plus B2B features. If you are not a Shopify Plus subscriber it would not suit your needs. SyncBase does not specify needing Shopify Plus, and is compatible with regular Shopify stores.
