Offerly: Make an Offer Button! vs Product Samples by Lukefor Shopify (2026)
Offerly: Make an Offer Button! and Product Samples by Luke, while both falling under the 'Pricing' and 'Pricing quotes' Shopify categories, address fundamentally different aspects of pricing strategy. Offerly aims to facilitate negotiation and potentially increase sales by allowing customers to submit offers on products. Product Samples by Luke, on the other hand, focuses on providing samples to customers, incentivizing purchases through trial and reducing returns by setting expectations and building trust in the product's quality and suitability. Offerly's strength lies in its potential to capture price-sensitive customers who might be deterred by the initial listed price. Product Samples' strength lies in its ability to reduce risk for customers, making them more willing to try new products and potentially increasing average order value in the long run. The apps cater to distinct target audiences: Offerly likely appeals to merchants selling higher-priced items or those willing to offer discounts to close sales. Product Samples is ideal for merchants selling products where sampling is common, such as cosmetics, food, or materials, or where reducing returns due to dissatisfaction is a significant concern.

Our Verdict
Choosing between Offerly and Product Samples depends entirely on the merchant's specific needs and product offerings. If the goal is to capture customers who are hesitant about the listed price, and the merchant is comfortable with negotiation, Offerly: Make an Offer Button! is the better choice. Conversely, if the merchant sells products where sampling is viable and they want to reduce returns by allowing customers to try before they buy, Product Samples by Luke is the more suitable option. They are not mutually exclusive, and a merchant *could* use both, but their distinct functionalities make them applicable to different products or stages of the customer journey.
Ultimately, Product Samples by Luke has a slightly stronger use-case due to the direct impact sampling has on lowering returns and boosting buyer confidence. The lower amount of reviews doesn't outweigh the very clear feature benefit. However, Offerly could be useful for high-ticket items to promote deal closing.
