Notify! Back in Stock|PreOrder vs Sales CountUpfor Shopify (2026)
Notify! Back in Stock|PreOrder and Sales CountUp both address ways to enhance a customer's shopping experience, however they do so in vastly different ways. Notify! Back in Stock|PreOrder focuses on mitigating the impact of out-of-stock items and facilitating pre-orders through notifications and wishlists. Its core strength lies in managing inventory-related issues and driving sales by capturing customer interest even when products are unavailable. It appears targeted towards merchants who frequently deal with out-of-stock situations and want to capture missed sales opportunities. Sales CountUp, on the other hand, is designed to showcase social proof and brand values through automated counters. Its primary aim is to build trust and credibility by highlighting positive aspects like sales volume, charitable donations, or eco-friendly initiatives. The key distinction lies in their purpose. Notify! Back in Stock|PreOrder is primarily a functional app addressing stock management and sales recovery. Sales CountUp is a marketing app focused on building brand image and influencing customer perception. While both may indirectly contribute to sales, Notify!'s approach is more direct by actively recovering lost sales due to stock issues, while Sales CountUp aims to attract customers through positive brand association and social proof.

Our Verdict
If a merchant's primary concern is managing out-of-stock products, capturing pre-orders (especially B2B), and offering wishlists, Notify! Back in Stock|PreOrder is the clear choice. Its comprehensive features, strong review count, and focus on inventory management make it a robust solution. However, a merchant prioritizing brand image, social proof, and showcasing their impact on the world should opt for Sales CountUp. Its ability to create customizable counters to highlight sales, donations, or eco-friendly efforts makes it ideal for building trust and influencing customer perception.
Essentially, Notify! is for fixing a problem (stockouts) and driving sales directly, while Sales CountUp is for enhancing the customer experience and subtly influencing purchase decisions. The choice depends entirely on the merchant's specific needs and goals. A store experiencing frequent out-of-stock issues will gain far more value from Notify! than Sales CountUp and visa versa for stores who want to tout CSR initiatives.
