MP ‑ Store Migration & Import vs OwlBoss: Mistakes Finderfor Shopify (2026)
MP ‑ Store Migration & Import and OwlBoss: Mistakes Finder, while both rated 5/5, serve fundamentally different purposes despite sharing the 'Bulk editor' category on Shopify. MP ‑ Store Migration & Import focuses on facilitating the transfer of store data from one platform or store to another. Its strength lies in simplifying a complex process that often involves moving large amounts of product information, customer data, and other essential elements. Given the number of reviews (109), it appeals to merchants looking to migrate their existing store to Shopify. OwlBoss: Mistakes Finder, on the other hand, positions itself as a product assistant aimed at identifying and rectifying errors within a store's existing product listings. Its value proposition is centered on preventing potentially damaging mistakes that could negatively impact the customer experience and revenue. The app targets merchants already operating on Shopify and particularly those with large or complex product catalogs that are prone to human error. The smaller number of reviews (14) suggests a more niche user base or a newer app. The Key Features highlight this positioning with claims that include displaying product mistakes, filtering based on rules, and single-dashboard information.

Our Verdict
The choice between MP ‑ Store Migration & Import and OwlBoss: Mistakes Finder depends entirely on the merchant's immediate needs. If the merchant is planning to migrate their store to Shopify from another platform, MP ‑ Store Migration & Import is the clear choice. Its purpose-built functionality addresses a distinct and potentially challenging requirement.
However, if the merchant already operates on Shopify and wants to proactively identify and correct errors in their product listings, OwlBoss: Mistakes Finder is the more suitable option. The app directly targets this issue and offers features designed to improve product data accuracy. The smaller number of reviews might warrant a closer look at the specific features and support offered, but its problem-solving focus is compelling for merchants with established stores.
Common Questions
Are both apps suitable for new Shopify stores?
No. OwlBoss is designed for stores with existing product listings, while MP ‑ Store Migration & Import is useful for bringing data from other platforms.
Do both apps offer customer support?
The information provided does not specify customer support details for either app. Further investigation is necessary.
Which app is more likely to have a free trial?
Without additional data, it is impossible to determine which app is more likely to offer a free trial. Check the app listings on the Shopify App Store.
If I have a small store, do I need either app?
The need depends on your circumstances. A small store considering migration might benefit from MP, whereas a small store with careful manual product management might not need OwlBoss.
Are the 'Bulk editor' capabilities of both apps similar?
The bulk editor categorization is misleading. While both apps handle product data, MP moves and transforms it whereas OwlBoss finds errors to be bulk edited, hence two very different use cases.
