Mergify: Combine, Merge Orders vs SellerDash: AusPost Shippingfor Shopify (2026)
Mergify: Combine, Merge Orders and SellerDash: AusPost Shipping are both shipping solutions on Shopify, but they address very different needs. Mergify focuses on order consolidation to reduce shipping costs by merging multiple orders into single shipments. Its target audience is merchants who frequently encounter customers placing multiple separate orders. SellerDash: AusPost Shipping, on the other hand, streamlines the shipping process for merchants using Australia Post's MyPost Business and eParcel services. It automates label printing, tracking, and rate calculation, making it ideal for businesses shipping primarily within or from Australia. The primary difference lies in their core functionality. Mergify is about optimizing shipping costs by bundling orders *before* shipment, while SellerDash automates the shipment execution process *after* an order has been placed. Mergify prioritizes cost savings through consolidation, while SellerDash focuses on time savings and efficiency in label generation and fulfillment with Australia Post. The drastically different ratings and review counts also signal potential issues with Mergify, or at least a much smaller and/or less satisfied user base compared to SellerDash. Given that both exist in 2026, Mergify might have drastically changed, though these current ratings should still be taken into account.

Our Verdict
Given the overwhelmingly positive reviews for SellerDash: AusPost Shipping and the concerningly low rating for Mergify: Combine, Merge Orders, the choice is relatively clear. If you use Australia Post extensively, SellerDash is almost certainly the better option. Its features for automating label creation, tracking, and rate calculation will save significant time.
Mergify is only worth considering if you have a specific problem of many customers placing multiple small orders that could be combined to save shipping costs. However, given its low rating, investigate thoroughly to ensure it is a reliable solution. Look for recent reviews or try a free trial to assess its usability and effectiveness. The vast difference in rating suggests that SellerDash likely provides a superior user experience and more reliable functionality for its intended purpose.
Common Questions
Which app is better for reducing shipping costs?
Mergify directly aims to reduce shipping costs by merging multiple orders into one shipment. SellerDash focuses on efficient shipping execution with Australia Post, but doesn't inherently reduce the number of shipments.
Which app is better for merchants based outside of Australia?
SellerDash is primarily designed for merchants shipping *with* Australia Post, implying a strong Australian focus. Mergify is likely more suitable for merchants needing to merge orders regardless of the shipping carrier or location, though its low ratings should be considered.
Which app is easier to set up and use?
Based on the descriptions and ratings, SellerDash likely offers a smoother setup and user experience. Mergify's automatic merging and smart suggestions could introduce complexity, and the poor rating suggests potential usability issues.
Does Mergify handle inventory management and analytics correctly?
Mergify claims that merging orders won't affect store inventory, analytics, sales or tax data, which suggests it has addressed potential conflicts. However, always test this functionality thoroughly to ensure accuracy.
Is SellerDash suitable if I use multiple shipping carriers?
SellerDash is specifically built for Australia Post's MyPost Business and eParcel. If you use other carriers, you'll need to use their respective integrations or solutions.
