Our Verdict
The choice between Merchbees Inventory Value and Tax Rex depends entirely on the merchant's specific needs. If a merchant's primary concern is understanding and optimizing their inventory value, then Merchbees Inventory Value would be the better choice. This is especially true if they are managing a complex inventory across multiple locations. However, if a merchant is primarily focused on US sales tax compliance, navigating state-specific rules and filing requirements, then Tax Rex is the clear winner. Its automation features and nexus monitoring provide significant value in a highly complex and regulated area.
For merchants selling in multiple channels, particularly those using marketplaces like Amazon and eBay, Tax Rex's ability to exclude those orders is a key differentiator and makes it a more compelling choice. For international merchants, Merchbees Inventory Value likely offers a better solution due to its global scope and the US-specific focus of Tax Rex.
