Mercado Pago Antifraud Plus vs Ongoing Disable Right Clickfor Shopify (2026)
Mercado Pago Antifraud Plus and Ongoing Disable Right Click, while both categorized under 'Fraud' in the Shopify app store, address fundamentally different aspects of security for merchants in 2026. Mercado Pago Antifraud Plus is a comprehensive solution designed to protect against fraudulent payments and chargebacks, specifically focusing on credit/debit card and Pix transactions. It aims to improve payment approval rates while simultaneously mitigating risk by filtering suspicious activity, strengthening security validations, and supporting 3D Secure protocols. Its primary target audience is merchants concerned about transaction-based fraud. Ongoing Disable Right Click, conversely, isn't detailed enough to even establish a purpose. Ongoing Disable Right Click, based solely on its name, likely focuses on preventing users from easily copying content from the storefront by disabling the right-click functionality. Its target audience would be merchants concerned about intellectual property theft or unauthorized duplication of website content (text or images). The small number of reviews may also mean that its effectiveness and compatibility with modern browsers may be inconsistent. The large disparity in reviews also shows that Mercado Pago Antifraud Plus serves a more widespread need. The apps' features, review volume, and descriptions indicates very little overlap in functionality or target users.

Our Verdict
For the vast majority of Shopify merchants, Mercado Pago Antifraud Plus represents the superior and much more relevant choice. The app directly addresses a critical issue in e-commerce – fraudulent transactions – by implementing sophisticated security measures and aiming to improve approval rates. Its larger user base (indicated by significantly more reviews) suggests it's a more reliable and well-supported solution.
Ongoing Disable Right Click appears to tackle a niche concern. Unless a merchant is experiencing significant issues with content theft and has already exhausted other methods, its benefit is limited, and may even harm the user experience. The lack of details, limited reviews, and narrow focus make it difficult to confidently recommend over other, more established security or copyright protection methods. Considering most modern browsers can easily bypass right-click restrictions with developer tools, it's efficacy is also questionable. Ultimately, Mercado Pago Antifraud Plus is a more comprehensive and valuable security investment for the average Shopify merchant.
