Our Verdict
For merchants needing a quick and easy way to add e-gifting functionality to specific products, particularly those already using OMS/WMS systems, MakeGift is likely the better choice. Its no-code implementation simplifies the process, making it accessible to smaller businesses. Ribbon, on the other hand, is geared towards larger businesses seeking to strategically leverage gifting to drive sales, increase average order value through upselling, and gain valuable insights into gifting trends. Ribbon's analytics and customization options offer a more comprehensive approach, justifying a more involved setup process.
While both apps have perfect ratings, the significantly higher number of reviews for Ribbon suggests a more established user base and potentially more robust support and documentation. However, MakeGift could be a great option for merchants prioritizing simplicity and speed of implementation.
