Local Delivery ‑ LionWheel vs Shipping & Delivery ‑ ShipZipfor Shopify (2026)
Local Delivery ‑ LionWheel and Shipping & Delivery ‑ ShipZip are both Shopify apps in the delivery and pickup category, but they cater to distinctly different merchant needs. LionWheel focuses on optimizing local delivery routes and providing a comprehensive solution for managing drivers and deliveries, integrating with courier services like Uber and offering features like proof of delivery and SMS notifications. Its aim is to streamline the entire local delivery process from checkout to completion, which might appeal to businesses with in-house delivery fleets. ShipZip, on the other hand, is more centered on advanced shipping rate calculation and customization based on various factors like product attributes, zip codes, and order parameters. The primary difference lies in their core functionalities. LionWheel prioritizes efficient route planning and delivery management with driver support, while ShipZip excels in providing precise shipping rate calculations and applying conditional rules to shipping costs. ShipZip also supports local delivery and store pickup, focusing on features like order delivery date selection by zipcode and setting flat fees across multiple locations. The stark contrast in user ratings and review counts is also a significant factor; ShipZip enjoys high praise and a substantial number of positive reviews, while LionWheel has a zero rating and relatively few reviews.

Our Verdict
For businesses heavily reliant on their own local delivery drivers and needing tools to optimize routes, track drivers, and manage the delivery process from start to finish, LionWheel appears to be the choice, despite the concerning rating. However, merchants need to carefully evaluate its functionality and reliability considering its very low rating. ShipZip is a more suitable option for businesses that prioritize accurate and customized shipping rates based on various product and customer attributes. If your primary need is to finely tune your shipping costs and offer local delivery options alongside standard shipping, ShipZip's high rating and strong feature set make it the better choice. Given LionWheel's zero rating, proceeding with extreme caution or exploring alternatives before ShipZip is strongly recommended. The lack of positive reviews for LionWheel raises significant concerns about its functionality and support.
