Lably—Product Labels & Badges vs Visual Merchandiserfor Shopify (2026)
Lably—Product Labels & Badges and Visual Merchandiser both fall under the 'Design elements' category in the Shopify app store, but they address entirely different merchant needs. Lably focuses on visual merchandising through product labels and badges, aiming to improve conversion rates by highlighting promotions, special offers, or product attributes. Visual Merchandiser, on the other hand, concentrates on the manual sorting and arrangement of products within collections, prioritizing aesthetic appeal and intuitive product discovery. The key difference lies in their approach to enhancing the customer experience. Lably utilizes visual cues and promotional messaging directly on product images, while Visual Merchandiser focuses on curating the overall layout and flow of product collections. This distinction makes them suitable for different objectives. Lably is ideal for merchants looking to boost sales through targeted promotions and visual highlighting, whereas Visual Merchandiser caters to those seeking greater control over the visual presentation of their product catalogs and a more engaging browsing experience.

Our Verdict
For merchants primarily concerned with maximizing sales and highlighting promotions, Lably—Product Labels & Badges is the clear choice. Its high rating and large number of reviews suggest a reliable and effective solution for attracting customer attention and boosting conversion rates. The pre-designed label library and customizable display conditions offer a quick and easy way to implement visual promotions.
Visual Merchandiser, while addressing a valid need for greater control over collection layout, suffers from a significantly lower rating and fewer reviews. It may be suitable for merchants who prioritize visual aesthetics and brand image above immediate sales increases and are willing to invest the time and effort to manually curate their collections. However, the lack of positive user feedback raises concerns about its reliability and ease of use. Until the rating improves, Lably is the safer bet for most Shopify merchants.
