Kindly: Payment Reminder Pro vs YSMS ‑ SMS Marketingfor Shopify (2026)
Kindly: Payment Reminder Pro and YSMS ‑ SMS Marketing both operate in the SMS marketing category on Shopify, but target fundamentally different use cases. Kindly focuses squarely on recovering payments through reminders, suggesting a specific niche. YSMS, in contrast, offers a full suite of SMS marketing automation features, including abandoned cart recovery (a feature Kindly also covers, but presumably with a narrower scope), advanced segmentation, back-in-stock alerts, and real-time analytics. YSMS seems geared towards merchants wanting a comprehensive SMS marketing solution, while Kindly is for those primarily concerned with payment recovery. While Kindly boasts a perfect 5/5 rating, it's based on a significantly smaller sample size (23 reviews) than YSMS (52 reviews), which has a 4.5/5 rating. This makes the YSMS rating arguably more reliable. YSMS's description highlights its focus on targeted campaigns, customer engagement, and increased sales, appealing to merchants actively looking to grow their business through proactive SMS marketing. Kindly, on the other hand, implicitly targets merchants experiencing payment issues and prioritizes immediate revenue recovery.

Our Verdict
YSMS ‑ SMS Marketing is the better choice for merchants seeking a comprehensive SMS marketing solution with advanced segmentation, analytics, and a broader range of automation features. Its established user base (52 reviews) and solid rating suggest reliability. Merchants focused solely on recovering payments might consider Kindly: Payment Reminder Pro due to its specific focus, but the small number of reviews makes it difficult to assess its overall effectiveness.
Ultimately, the decision hinges on the merchant's needs and goals. If proactive SMS marketing and revenue growth are priorities, YSMS is the clear winner. If the primary concern is simply recovering overdue payments, Kindly could be an option, but the larger feature set and more robust review count of YSMS arguably makes it a better bet even in that scenario.
