Instafeed ‑ Instagram Feed vs Lookfy Lookbook: Image Galleryfor Shopify (2026)
Instafeed - Instagram Feed and Lookfy Lookbook: Image Gallery both excel in visual merchandising on Shopify, but cater to different needs. Instafeed focuses on leveraging user-generated content (UGC) and Instagram feeds to build social proof and drive sales by showcasing authentic customer experiences and current trends directly from Instagram. Its strength lies in automating content updates from Instagram, particularly with photos, videos, and Reels, and turning them into shoppable experiences. This positions Instafeed as ideal for merchants heavily reliant on Instagram for marketing and social commerce. Lookfy Lookbook, on the other hand, provides a more comprehensive image and video gallery solution directly managed within Shopify. It allows for highly customizable lookbooks, product galleries, and portfolios, with features like hotspots and smart filters for showcasing products within images. While also offering shoppable capabilities, Lookfy excels in creating visually appealing and structured product presentations independent of social media platforms. Its target audience includes merchants prioritizing brand storytelling, sophisticated product presentation, and offering upsell bundles. The app also allows for bulk uploads and flexible gallery layouts.

Our Verdict
For merchants heavily invested in Instagram marketing and seeking an effortless way to integrate their social media content into their Shopify store, Instafeed - Instagram Feed is the clear winner. Its automated Instagram integration and focus on UGC provide a seamless experience for leveraging social proof and driving sales directly from Instagram. The high number of reviews and equally high rating suggests a high level of user satisfaction, and an indication of the app doing what it is supposed to reliably.
However, for merchants prioritizing complete control over their visual presentation and brand storytelling, Lookfy Lookbook: Image Gallery is the better choice. Its powerful lookbook and gallery creation tools, combined with its ability to create upsell bundles and custom layouts, provide the flexibility needed to create a compelling and unique shopping experience independent of Instagram. Lookfy empowers the merchant to curate and manage their own media content.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to set up?
Instafeed is likely easier to set up initially due to its direct integration with Instagram. You simply connect your account and configure the feed. Lookfy requires uploading images and videos, which may take more time depending on the number of products.
Which app is better for SEO?
Both apps can be optimized for SEO. Lookfy offers more control over image alt text and file names since you are directly uploading the content. Instafeed relies on the alt text and descriptions from Instagram, which may require more effort to optimize separately on Instagram.
Which app is better for mobile optimization?
Both apps claim to be mobile-friendly. Instafeed highlights custom rows and columns specifically for mobile, suggesting targeted optimization. Lookfy's compatibility with Shopify 2.0 themes implies responsiveness. Testing both with your specific theme is recommended.
Can I use both apps on my store?
Yes, but consider the potential for visual overload. Using both would be most effective if they are deployed on different pages, with Lookfy handling catalog and product presentation, and Instafeed highlighting user generated content on other areas like blog posts, home page or landing pages.
Which app is more cost-effective?
Without pricing information, it's impossible to directly compare cost-effectiveness. You should compare their pricing plans (free, paid, or usage-based tiers) against your needs to determine which offers better value. The value proposition depends on merchant's needs.
