Imgify Custom Animation Effect vs Sosharely: Share for Discountfor Shopify (2026)
Imgify Custom Animation Effect and Sosharely: Share for Discount are both Shopify apps designed to enhance the customer experience and boost sales, but they achieve this through vastly different methods. Imgify focuses on visual appeal and seasonal promotions by adding customizable falling image effects (like logos, snowflakes, or hearts) to a store's website. It is aimed at merchants seeking a quick and easy way to inject visual flair and celebrate specific events, potentially leading to increased engagement and conversions through enhanced aesthetic appeal. Sosharely, on the other hand, emphasizes social sharing and referral marketing. It allows merchants to offer discounts to customers who promote their store on social media, leveraging word-of-mouth marketing to acquire new customers. The key difference lies in their approach. Imgify is an on-site visual enhancement tool, providing immediate but potentially subtle improvements to the shopping experience. Sosharely is a marketing tool focused on customer acquisition through social amplification. While both apps are rated 5/5, Imgify boasts a significantly higher number of reviews (17 vs. 1), suggesting a more established presence and potentially greater user confidence. The choice between the two depends on the merchant's primary goal: enhanced visual appeal and on-site engagement or leveraging social sharing for new customer acquisition.

Our Verdict
For merchants prioritizing aesthetic improvements and seasonal promotions to enhance the on-site shopping experience, Imgify Custom Animation Effect is the better choice. The app's customizable visual effects and preset options offer a quick and easy way to create a festive or branded atmosphere. Its higher review count provides greater confidence in its reliability and effectiveness.
However, for merchants focusing on aggressive customer acquisition through social media, Sosharely: Share for Discount is the more suitable option. While it has fewer reviews, the potential for viral marketing through incentivized social sharing can lead to significant growth. The choice depends on whether the merchant's primary goal is to improve the existing customer experience or acquire new ones through referral programs.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to set up and use?
Both apps claim to be easy to use. Imgify boasts a one-click implementation, suggesting a very simple initial setup. Sosharely highlights quick installation and an easy-to-use interface, implying a straightforward ongoing management process. However, Imgify's higher review count provides more data points to suggest ease of use.
Which app provides better ROI?
ROI depends on the merchant's goals. Imgify's ROI is linked to improved conversion rates and customer engagement due to enhanced visual appeal, which can be difficult to directly measure. Sosharely's ROI is tied to acquiring new customers at a potentially lower cost than traditional marketing, which is more easily trackable through referral codes and sales data.
Which app is better for branding?
Imgify is directly beneficial for branding because it allows merchants to add a falling image effect of their store's logo. Sosharely relies on user-generated content and the branding message is dependent on the images and captions uploaded by the merchant, and then shared by their customers.
Which app is better for a new store with limited marketing budget?
Sosharely might be a better fit for a new store with a limited marketing budget. The share-for-discount model leverages existing customers to promote the store, potentially leading to a more cost-effective customer acquisition strategy compared to traditional advertising methods. Imgify may be useful, but its impact is less direct and measurable in terms of new customer acquisition.
Are there any overlaps in the functionality of these apps?
While both fall under the 'Promotions - Other' category, there is very little overlap in their core functionality. Both attempt to increase sales, but through completely different routes: visual appeal vs. social sharing.
