ILS: Indian Logistics Services vs InstaReturns by ShipDelightfor Shopify (2026)
ILS: Indian Logistics Services and InstaReturns by ShipDelight cater to distinct needs within the Shopify ecosystem, despite sharing the 'Returns and warranty' and 'Returns and exchanges' categories. ILS focuses on streamlining the entire shipping and logistics process within India, offering integrations with numerous Indian logistics providers like Delhivery, Bluedart, and IndiaPost. It aims to simplify order fulfillment, AWB generation, and real-time tracking, targeting merchants handling a high volume of outgoing shipments within India. Conversely, InstaReturns by ShipDelight is centered on automating the returns and exchange process. It provides a self-service portal for customers, automated approvals, and QC checks, designed to reduce merchant workload and improve customer satisfaction related to returns. The key difference lies in their primary function: ILS handles outbound logistics, including label generation and carrier integration for shipments, while InstaReturns automates the inbound logistics of returns and exchanges. ILS also handles invoicing and other aspects related to order fulfillment, whereas InstaReturns is solely focused on the reverse logistics flow. The stark difference in user reviews (68 vs. 2) and ratings (5/5 vs. 3.1/5) suggests vastly different user experiences and confidence levels. While both aim to optimize post-purchase processes, they address very different parts of the order lifecycle.

Our Verdict
ILS: Indian Logistics Services is the clear choice for merchants primarily concerned with streamlining their shipping processes within India. Its robust integration with multiple Indian carriers, AWB generation, and bulk processing capabilities make it suitable for businesses handling a significant volume of outgoing shipments. However, its potential complexity should be considered.
InstaReturns by ShipDelight is ideal for merchants struggling to manage returns and exchanges efficiently. Its self-serve portal and automation features can significantly reduce the support burden and improve the customer experience. However, the limited number of reviews and lower rating suggest caution; a thorough trial period would be wise. If returns are a major pain point and automation is crucial, InstaReturns offers a specific solution.
Common Questions
Does ILS handle returns or only outbound shipping?
ILS offers return request management, but its core focus and listed integrations are primarily geared towards outbound shipping and order fulfillment. InstaReturns specializes in automated returns.
Can InstaReturns generate shipping labels and track packages?
Based on the provided information, InstaReturns focuses on managing the *process* of returns and exchanges, not generating shipping labels or directly tracking packages. It likely integrates with shipping services to facilitate the return process, but doesn't provide this functionality itself.
Which app is easier to set up and use?
It's impossible to definitively say which is easier without user experience data. However, InstaReturns' narrower focus might make it simpler to configure than ILS, which integrates with numerous shipping providers. ILS might require more initial setup to configure shipping preferences.
What type of merchant benefits most from ILS?
Merchants who primarily ship within India and use a variety of Indian logistics providers will benefit most from ILS. It streamlines the process of selecting carriers, generating AWBs, and tracking shipments. The GST invoice feature is also beneficial for Indian businesses.
What is the potential risk of using InstaReturns with so few reviews?
With only two reviews, there's a higher risk of encountering unforeseen issues or limitations with InstaReturns. The low rating suggests potential user dissatisfaction. A thorough trial and careful evaluation are recommended before committing to a paid plan.
