iDEAL by Lyra Collect vs Razorpay Affordability Widgetfor Shopify (2026)
In 2026, choosing between iDEAL by Lyra Collect and Razorpay Affordability Widget presents a stark contrast. iDEAL by Lyra Collect aims to simplify iDEAL payment integration for Shopify merchants, focusing on secure iDEAL payment management with features like refunds, cancellations, and validations. Its selling point is ease of installation without needing a developer, supporting multi-language and multi-currency compliance. The target audience appears to be European merchants, specifically those in the Netherlands where iDEAL is popular. However, a significant drawback is the complete absence of user reviews and a 0/5 rating, signaling a lack of user validation or potential issues. Conversely, Razorpay Affordability Widget targets a different problem: cart abandonment by highlighting affordable payment options. It displays EMI (Equated Monthly Installments), Pay Later options, and Offers directly on product pages, intending to boost conversions. This app requires Razorpay Secure App to be installed first, implying it's geared towards merchants already using or planning to use Razorpay as their payment gateway. While it has a low 1.4/5 rating based on 20 reviews, it at least indicates *some* user feedback, even if negative, giving a merchant more data to consider than the complete void with iDEAL by Lyra Collect. The target audience is likely merchants in regions where EMI and Pay Later options are common payment methods.

Our Verdict
Given the data, it's difficult to unequivocally recommend iDEAL by Lyra Collect. The complete lack of reviews and a 0/5 rating are significant red flags. A merchant accepting iDEAL payments may still be tempted by its promise of easy integration and absence of developer requirements, but should proceed with extreme caution, possibly testing thoroughly in a non-live environment first.
Razorpay Affordability Widget, despite its low rating, provides at least *some* user feedback. If a merchant is already using or planning to use Razorpay as their payment gateway and experiences high cart abandonment rates due to affordability concerns, then it would be more logical to test the Razorpay Affordability Widget and analyze the actual impact on conversions. However, given the low rating, they should carefully monitor customer satisfaction and address any negative feedback.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to set up?
iDEAL by Lyra Collect claims easy installation without needing a developer, whereas Razorpay Affordability Widget requires the prior installation of Razorpay Secure App, making iDEAL by Lyra Collect seemingly easier for a merchant without existing Razorpay integration.
Which app is more likely to increase conversions?
Razorpay Affordability Widget is specifically designed to increase conversions by highlighting affordable payment options. iDEAL by Lyra Collect focuses on providing a secure iDEAL payment method, which may indirectly increase conversions by offering a preferred payment option, but its primary focus isn't conversion optimization.
Which app is safer to install in 2026?
It is difficult to say which is 'safer'. The zero reviews of iDEAL by Lyra Collect introduce uncertainty as no users have validated the claim of secure payments. The low-rated Razorpay Affordability Widget *has* been reviewed by 20 users, so issues are more likely to be known and possibly fixable, although overall satisfaction is low.
If I don't use Razorpay, should I consider Razorpay Affordability Widget?
No. The description explicitly states that Razorpay Secure App must be installed for the Razorpay Affordability Widget to function. It is not a standalone solution.
Which app offers multi-currency support?
iDEAL by Lyra Collect explicitly states it provides multi-currency compliance, whereas Razorpay Affordability Widget makes no mention of currency support. Therefore, iDEAL by Lyra Collect is the better choice if multi-currency support is required.
