HubSpot vs Supermetricsfor Shopify (2026)
In 2026, Shopify merchants considering HubSpot and Supermetrics for analytics and operations face a decision between a CRM-focused solution and a data aggregation tool. HubSpot positions itself as a Smart CRM and marketing automation platform, emphasizing auto-sync of Shopify data for segmentation, personalized email campaigns, and sales/marketing performance tracking. Its focus is on building a unified customer view within the HubSpot ecosystem and enabling direct customer engagement through live chat and forms. Supermetrics, on the other hand, focuses on data aggregation from diverse marketing and sales platforms, aiming to streamline data analysis by eliminating manual data transfer. Supermetrics is geared towards merchants already using a variety of marketing platforms and sophisticated BI or analytics tools. It provides the capability to consolidate data into a central location for more comprehensive analysis. HubSpot, with its CRM focus, appears to be targeting merchants seeking a more integrated sales and marketing solution with built-in automation and customer management capabilities. The choice between the two hinges on whether the merchant prioritizes a comprehensive CRM with marketing automation (HubSpot) or a robust data aggregation tool for use with existing analytics platforms (Supermetrics).

Our Verdict
For Shopify merchants primarily seeking to improve customer relationship management, automate email marketing, and gain a holistic view of their customers within a dedicated CRM, HubSpot appears to be the more suitable option, despite its poor initial rating. It offers built-in features like live chat and forms for direct customer engagement. However, the low rating should be investigated carefully.
Conversely, merchants already leveraging multiple marketing and sales platforms and possessing established BI or analytics workflows would likely benefit more from Supermetrics. Its strength lies in its ability to consolidate data from disparate sources, allowing for more comprehensive analysis and improved marketing performance through data-backed decisions. Supermetrics caters to those who need powerful data integration capabilities, making the data available in a wide array of locations. The lack of reviews makes it difficult to assess the app's quality and reliability.
Common Questions
