HideShip:Hide Shipping Methods vs Zipcode Checker ‑ Zippyfor Shopify (2026)
HideShip: Hide Shipping Methods and Zipcode Checker - Zippy both fall under the 'Shipping solutions - Other' category in the Shopify app store but cater to distinct merchant needs. HideShip focuses on optimizing the checkout experience by allowing merchants to hide, sort, and rename shipping methods based on various rules such as product, customer, or geography. It aims to reduce cart abandonment and shipping errors by tailoring shipping options to the customer. Zipcode Checker - Zippy, on the other hand, centers around validating zipcode serviceability, enabling merchants to inform customers whether a product is available for delivery to their location. The primary difference lies in their core functionality. HideShip improves the post-purchase shipping selection process, focusing on checkout optimization and preventing unnecessary expenses. Zippy addresses pre-purchase eligibility, ensuring customers only see and attempt to order products deliverable to their specified address. This helps manage customer expectations and avoid order fulfillment issues related to location. Both apps offer customization options to fit a store's theme and business logic, but their purposes are fundamentally different: one refines shipping choices, and the other verifies delivery feasibility.

Our Verdict
The choice between HideShip and Zipcode Checker - Zippy depends entirely on the merchant's specific needs. If the primary goal is to streamline the checkout process, offer relevant shipping options, and manage shipping costs effectively, HideShip is the superior choice. This is particularly valuable for businesses offering diverse shipping options and facing challenges with customers selecting inappropriate or costly methods.
However, if the business operates with geographically restricted product availability or offers location-specific services, Zipcode Checker - Zippy is the more suitable solution. It helps prevent customer frustration and order fulfillment issues by clearly communicating product availability upfront, streamlining the ordering process, and improving overall customer satisfaction. Merchants should carefully consider their operational challenges and desired customer experience to determine which app aligns best with their goals.
Common Questions
Does HideShip validate zip codes?
No, HideShip does not validate zip codes. It focuses on managing the shipping methods displayed during checkout based on various conditions, including geography but not direct validation.
Can Zippy hide shipping methods based on zip code?
Zippy's primary function is to check product availability based on zip code. It does not directly control shipping method visibility. A separate app like HideShip would be needed for that functionality.
Which app is easier to set up?
Both apps are described as easy to install and use. HideShip highlights integration using 'Native Shopify Functions,' suggesting a smooth integration. Zippy emphasizes seamless integration with a few clicks. The actual ease of setup may vary based on individual store configurations.
If I offer local pickup, which app is more useful?
Zipcode Checker - Zippy would be more immediately useful if you want to show if local pickup is offered for a particular product at their zipcode. HideShip could later be used to make 'local pickup' be the only offered option if they enter an eligible zip code.
Which app is better for improving conversion rates?
Both apps can contribute to improved conversion rates, but in different ways. HideShip streamlines the checkout process, reducing confusion and cart abandonment related to shipping options. Zippy improves customer satisfaction by preventing orders for unavailable products, potentially leading to repeat business and positive reviews.
