Hide Price vs YouQuote: Request a Quote Formfor Shopify (2026)
Hide Price and YouQuote: Request a Quote Form both address pricing on Shopify, but cater to vastly different needs. Hide Price focuses on gated pricing, requiring users to log in to view prices and add products to their cart. This is primarily targeted at B2B wholesalers who want to collect customer data and control product visibility based on user login status. It achieves this by hiding prices and 'Add to Cart' buttons until a user logs in, and allows for customized text and buttons in their place. On the other hand, YouQuote: Request a Quote Form, as its name suggests, is centered around generating custom price quotes. While Hide Price aims to prevent users from seeing standard prices, YouQuote facilitates potential buyers to request custom pricing for products based on variable factors. Its positioning indicates it’s designed to gather customer information and requirements, rather than obscuring base product pricing. Furthermore, the disparity in ratings and reviews is considerable, with YouQuote boasting a perfect score based on substantial user feedback, and Hide Price having no reviews whatsoever.

Our Verdict
The choice between Hide Price and YouQuote is highly dependent on the merchant's business model. Hide Price is suitable for wholesalers who want to control access to product pricing and collect customer data before displaying prices. This model is perfect for stores offering exclusive deals, custom products, or varying prices for different customer segments that can be unlocked through login access.
YouQuote is the better choice for businesses that require custom pricing based on individual customer needs. If your products have varying manufacturing costs, require complex installation, or are customized based on specifications, YouQuote allows you to offer tailored price quotes to each potential customer. The significant difference in reviews makes YouQuote a much less risky proposition, given other Shopify storeowners have been able to install and use the app successfully.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to set up?
Based on available information, Hide Price is likely easier to set up because its feature set is more limited. YouQuote likely involves more configuration due to its form-building capabilities.
Which app is better for collecting customer data?
Both apps collect customer data. Hide Price collects data via login requirements, forcing users to register before seeing prices. YouQuote collects data via the quote request form. The best option depends on which data collection method better suits your sales process.
Which app is better for B2C businesses?
Neither app is ideal for most B2C businesses. YouQuote could be applicable for certain high-value or custom product B2C sales. But generally B2C businesses benefit from up-front pricing.
Which app is more likely to have bugs?
With no reviews, Hide Price's reliability is questionable. YouQuote, with 27 positive reviews, is statistically more likely to be stable and bug-free (though not guaranteed).
Which app provides more flexibility?
Potentially, YouQuote offers more flexibility with its quote form customization, allowing merchants to capture more specific customer requirements. Hide Price is more rigid, simply hiding or showing prices based on login status.
