Hey!Scarcity Low Stock Counter vs Preorder Wolf | Pre order nowfor Shopify (2026)
Hey!Scarcity Low Stock Counter and Preorder Wolf serve distinct purposes for Shopify merchants, though both relate to stock management. Hey!Scarcity focuses on driving immediate sales by creating urgency through displaying stock levels and countdown timers. Its strengths lie in its ease of use, visual appeal with the pulse animation feature, and ability to influence purchase decisions directly on the product page by highlighting scarcity. The target audience for Hey!Scarcity is merchants seeking to increase conversion rates on in-stock items by leveraging FOMO (Fear of Missing Out). Preorder Wolf, on the other hand, enables merchants to continue selling products even when out of stock or before they are even released. It is designed to maintain revenue streams, gauge product demand, and fulfill made-to-order items. Preorder Wolf offers flexibility by allowing preorders for specific products, collections, or entire catalogs, and it incorporates conditional logic based on inventory levels. The ideal user for Preorder Wolf is a merchant who deals with backorders, pre-sales, custom products, or wants to test product viability before investing in inventory. Preorder Wolf allows selling when a product is out of stock and supports sales even before the product release, which Hey!Scarcity cannot facilitate.

Our Verdict
For merchants primarily focused on boosting sales of products they already have in stock by creating a sense of urgency, Hey!Scarcity Low Stock Counter is the better choice. Its visual appeal and straightforward functionality directly address the need to convert visitors into buyers by highlighting limited availability. The pulse animation helps draw customer attention to the scarcity message.
However, if a merchant frequently runs out of stock, deals with backorders, pre-sales, made-to-order goods, or wants to test new product concepts without initial investment, Preorder Wolf | Pre order now is the more suitable option. Its ability to manage preorders conditionally and maintain revenue streams even when inventory is unavailable makes it a valuable tool for long-term business growth and demand assessment.
