Our Verdict
If your primary goal is to connect with customers directly through popular messaging apps like WhatsApp and SMS for marketing promotions and order updates, Hextom: WhatsApp, SMS & Push is likely the better choice due to its broader feature set in those areas and significantly larger user base. Its higher number of reviews suggests a more mature product with a wider range of tested use cases.
However, if you require sophisticated automation of internal processes, extensive customization of emails using Liquid, and the ability to manipulate store data through tagging and metafields, then Notifications by Modd Apps is a more powerful option, assuming you possess the technical expertise (or are willing to learn). While its review count is lower, its perfect 5/5 rating suggests a highly satisfied (if smaller) user base, likely consisting of those with specific, complex needs.
