∞ Google Ads Tracking & GTM vs Upstack: Site Intelligencefor Shopify (2026)
∞ Google Ads Tracking & GTM focuses primarily on Google Ads and Google Analytics 4 (GA4) tracking, leveraging Google Tag Manager (GTM) for unlimited server-side event tracking. It positions itself as a comprehensive solution for merchants deeply invested in the Google ecosystem who need robust, customizable tracking through GTM. Upstack: Site Intelligence, on the other hand, is positioned as a broader site intelligence tool focusing on improved attribution, especially in the face of iOS 14 restrictions. It boasts support for multiple platforms like Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and Klaviyo, emphasizing easy setup and server-side pixel implementation to improve ad performance on those platforms. The key difference lies in the ecosystem focus: Google vs. multi-platform. ∞ Google Ads Tracking & GTM emphasizes the power of GTM and data layers for custom Google Ads tracking. Upstack targets merchants who are looking for a simpler no-code solution and require improved attribution across multiple advertising platforms, particularly Facebook/Meta and TikTok. The 'infinite' aspect of ∞ Google Ads Tracking & GTM refers to the potential for customization via GTM, while Upstack touts unlimited pixels, specifically for the platforms it supports. The choice depends on the merchant's primary ad channels and comfort level with GTM.

Our Verdict
For merchants primarily using Google Ads and comfortable with Google Tag Manager (GTM), ∞ Google Ads Tracking & GTM is the better choice. It offers deep customization through GTM and data layer automation, allowing for highly specific tracking needs. However, if you're running ads across multiple platforms (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok) and need a simpler, no-code solution with a focus on improved attribution and ROAS, especially in light of iOS 14 restrictions, Upstack: Site Intelligence is the stronger option.
While Upstack has a slightly higher rating, the significantly lower number of reviews compared to ∞ Google Ads Tracking & GTM suggests it may be newer or cater to a more niche audience. Therefore, larger, established stores comfortable with GTM might find ∞ Google Ads Tracking & GTM more suitable, while smaller stores focusing on social media ads might lean towards Upstack.
