Gist | Gift Card Pro Tools vs Selling Pointfor Shopify (2026)
Gist | Gift Card Pro Tools and Selling Point both operate within the Shopify gift card ecosystem but cater to fundamentally different merchant needs. Gist focuses on enhancing the customer gift card purchasing experience and automating the delivery of digital gift cards. It allows customers to personalize gift cards with messages, videos, and scheduled delivery, making it suitable for merchants seeking to improve customer engagement and drive gift card sales. Selling Point, on the other hand, is designed to simplify the migration of existing gift card balances and store credits from other platforms or POS systems to Shopify. Its core strength lies in its ability to handle bulk imports and conversions, offering a seamless transition for merchants switching to Shopify or consolidating systems. The core difference lies in their purpose: Gist is for merchants who want to sell *new* engaging gift cards directly within their Shopify store, improving customer experience and personalization. Selling Point addresses a more specific, migration-related need. Merchants migrating from another platform or struggling with fragmented gift card data will find Selling Point extremely valuable, while those looking to enhance their existing Shopify gift card sales and user experience will benefit more from Gist's features.

Our Verdict
For merchants already on Shopify and looking to boost their gift card sales, enhance customer engagement, and offer personalized gift card experiences, Gist | Gift Card Pro Tools is the clear choice. Its features around automated delivery, custom designs, and video messages directly contribute to a better customer experience and potential for increased revenue. However, if the primary need is to migrate existing gift card data from another system to Shopify, Selling Point is the superior solution. Its focus on bulk import, conversion, and compatibility with various POS systems makes it invaluable for merchants facing data migration challenges.
While Selling Point boasts a perfect 5-star rating, the lower number of reviews suggests it may be a newer app or cater to a more niche audience. Gist's slightly lower rating but higher review count indicates broader adoption and likely reflects a wider range of merchant experiences. Therefore, choose Gist for enhancing gift card sales within Shopify and Selling Point for seamless migration *to* Shopify.
