Gift Wrap Plus vs Ribbon | Giftingfor Shopify (2026)
Gift Wrap Plus and Ribbon | Gifting both cater to the gifting market on Shopify, but they approach it from different angles. Gift Wrap Plus focuses on enabling merchants to offer traditional gift-wrapping options at the product level, allowing customization and pricing flexibility. It targets merchants seeking to add a straightforward, customizable gift-wrapping service to their existing product offerings. Ribbon | Gifting, on the other hand, presents itself as an innovative gifting platform that moves beyond traditional gift cards by allowing customers to purchase specific products *as gifts* without needing recipient details upfront. Ribbon | Gifting aims to boost sales and retention through a smoother gifting experience, offering features like upselling during redemption and analytics to understand gifting trends. While Gift Wrap Plus appears to be more centered on enhancing the existing checkout flow with wrapping options, Ribbon | Gifting facilitates a unique gift-giving process with an emphasis on marketing insights and potential for increased Average Order Value (AOV) via upsells. The intended audiences differ: Gift Wrap Plus is for those wanting simple gift wrap; Ribbon | Gifting is for those after comprehensive gifting solutions and data-driven strategies.

Our Verdict
For Shopify merchants seeking a straightforward and easy-to-implement solution to offer traditional gift-wrapping options, Gift Wrap Plus is likely the better choice. Its simple setup and focus on adding gift wrap to products or collections make it a practical option for quickly enhancing the customer experience. The higher number of reviews also suggests a more established presence and potentially broader user base.
However, for merchants aiming for a more comprehensive and data-driven approach to gifting, Ribbon | Gifting stands out. Its innovative features, such as enabling product gifting without recipient details and upselling during the redemption flow, offer the potential for increased sales and customer retention. Merchants willing to invest in a more complex gifting solution and leverage analytics to optimize their gifting strategy would likely find Ribbon | Gifting to be the superior choice. The lack of reviews compared to Gift Wrap Plus should be taken into consideration.
