Gift Cards by WeGifts vs Ribbon | Giftingfor Shopify (2026)
Both Gift Cards by WeGifts and Ribbon | Gifting are Shopify apps in the 'Gifts' category, aiming to enhance the gifting experience for both merchants and customers. However, they approach gifting from fundamentally different angles. WeGifts focuses on traditional gift card management, streamlining the process of creating, distributing, and tracking gift card sales, particularly emphasizing bulk generation for B2B applications. Ribbon, on the other hand, aims to replace traditional gift cards with a product-specific gifting solution, allowing customers to gift actual products from the store without needing recipient addresses or sizes upfront. Ribbon excels in customer experience, providing a seamless and modern gifting experience that integrates directly into product pages and offers opportunities for upselling and cross-selling.
