Our Verdict
For merchants primarily focused on acquiring new customers through word-of-mouth and incentivizing existing customers to spread the word, Gather: Refer a Friend is the clear choice. Its features are specifically designed to facilitate referral marketing campaigns and track their performance. However, for merchants looking to establish or optimize recurring revenue streams through subscription-based offerings, Recurpay: Subscriptions app provides a comprehensive solution. Its robust subscription management tools, customer self-service portal, and dedicated support make it a more suitable option for subscription-based businesses.
While both apps operate within the customer loyalty space, their functionalities and target audiences are distinct. If a business needs both referral and subscription capabilities, they may consider integrating both apps or looking for an all-in-one solution (if available) or prioritize based on the immediate need.
