GATE ‑ Checkout Validation vs Puco Validation: Order Limitsfor Shopify (2026)
In 2026, Shopify merchants choosing between GATE ‑ Checkout Validation and Puco Validation: Order Limits face a choice between a potentially more comprehensive, unproven solution and a well-regarded, but seemingly more focused, app. GATE positions itself as an 'all-in-one' checkout rules engine, offering a wider range of controls including order limits, payment method manipulation, and shipping option adjustments. Puco Validation: Order Limits, on the other hand, is more specifically focused on order limit functionality. The absence of reviews for GATE, contrasted with the 5-star rating and 12 reviews for Puco, suggests a significant difference in market validation, with Puco demonstrating established user satisfaction, although the small number of reviews may indicate a smaller, niche user base.

Our Verdict
For merchants primarily concerned with order limit functionality and seeking a proven, highly-rated solution, Puco Validation: Order Limits is the safer choice. The existing positive reviews provide a level of confidence that GATE lacks. However, for merchants requiring more comprehensive checkout control, including payment and shipping method manipulation, and are willing to take a risk on a new app with no reviews but a broader feature set, GATE ‑ Checkout Validation may be worth exploring, but requires careful testing. The server-side validation and express checkout compatibility of GATE may be critical for larger stores wanting to ensure all sales channels are protected. Smaller stores, particularly those prioritizing ease of use and proven performance, will likely find Puco Validation the superior option.
