Frequently Bought Together CBB vs Kite Discount, Free Gift, BOGOfor Shopify (2026)
Frequently Bought Together CBB focuses primarily on upselling and product bundling, mimicking the "frequently bought together" feature popular on large e-commerce platforms like Amazon. Its core strength lies in AI-driven product recommendations and customizable bundle discounts, aiming to increase order value by suggesting related products. This app targets merchants seeking to implement proven recommendation strategies to boost sales and offers a relatively simple setup with out-of-the-box styles. Kite Discount, Free Gift, BOGO, on the other hand, positions itself as a comprehensive discount and promotion suite. It goes beyond simple bundling, offering features like free gifts with purchase, BOGO deals, tiered discounts, and progress bars to incentivize larger purchases. This app is suited for merchants who want a wide range of promotional tools and the flexibility to create complex discount rules. Kite Discount particularly appeals to those migrating from Shopify Script Editor or seeking advanced discount logic during peak sales periods like BFCM (Black Friday/Cyber Monday).

Common Questions
Which app is easier to set up and use?
Frequently Bought Together CBB likely offers a simpler setup due to its focus on a specific functionality (upselling via recommendations). Kite Discount, with its broader feature set, may require a steeper learning curve.
Which app is better for running BFCM promotions?
Kite Discount, Free Gift, BOGO is explicitly designed for running combined discounts under single codes for BFCM, making it the better option for large promotional events. Frequently Bought Together CBB, while still useful, doesn't highlight specific features for BFCM.
Which app is best for increasing average order value (AOV)?
Both apps aim to increase AOV, but through different mechanisms. Frequently Bought Together CBB does so by recommending related products, while Kite Discount increases AOV by incentivizing larger purchases via discounts and free gifts. The best choice depends on your product catalog and target customer behavior.
Which app relies more on AI?
Frequently Bought Together CBB heavily relies on its AI-driven recommendation engine, continuously trained over years. Kite Discount's description does not emphasize AI as a core component.
Can I use both apps simultaneously?
Potentially, but it would require careful planning to avoid conflicting discounts or recommendations. You would need to ensure that the discounts offered by Kite Discount do not negatively impact the product bundles suggested by Frequently Bought Together CBB.
