Our Verdict
For merchants primarily struggling to acquire new signups and seeking to boost discount code usage through engaging, interactive experiences, FreeDrop is the more suitable option. Its gamified approach can rapidly capture user information in exchange for the chance to win discounts. However, merchants prioritizing customer retention and long-term relationship building, and who are willing to collect birthday data, would benefit more from Happy Birthday Emails by UW. While both have 5-star ratings, the much larger number of reviews for Happy Birthday Emails by UW (141 vs 3) suggests it is a more established and widely adopted solution, lending additional credibility to its effectiveness, although the recency of FreeDrop and market shifts towards gamification could also explain the difference. It is also important to consider, despite the similar ratings, that 3 reviews is too small to be statistically significant.
