Fraud Falcon ‑ Block & Prevent vs Verifly ID Verification & KYCfor Shopify (2026)
Fraud Falcon ‑ Block & Prevent and Verifly ID Verification & KYC are both Shopify apps aimed at fraud prevention, but they take drastically different approaches and serve distinct needs. Fraud Falcon focuses on automated fraud detection and prevention using rules based on various order characteristics like risk score, email type, and address mismatches. It's geared towards proactively blocking potentially fraudulent orders, reducing chargebacks, and protecting revenue by offering merchants granular control over fraud filters. Verifly, on the other hand, centers around ID verification and KYC (Know Your Customer) compliance, suggesting a focus on verifying customer identities to mitigate fraud and meet regulatory requirements. The most significant difference lies in their operational methodology. Fraud Falcon employs a reactive, rule-based system that analyzes order data to identify and block suspicious transactions. It provides tools to customize these rules and actions to be taken, such as canceling orders or holding them for review. Verifly, implied by its name and category, takes a more proactive, identity-focused approach. Though details are lacking due to the limited data available, it likely involves directly verifying customer identities through document submission and validation, making it suitable for merchants in regulated industries or those dealing with high-value transactions where identity theft is a significant concern. The lack of reviews and ratings for Verifly makes it difficult to assess its usability and effectiveness compared to Fraud Falcon, which has a perfect rating, albeit based on a small sample size.

Our Verdict
For most general e-commerce stores primarily concerned with reducing chargebacks and automating fraud prevention, Fraud Falcon ‑ Block & Prevent is the better choice. Its rule-based system, setup wizard, and action customization offer a practical solution for proactively blocking potentially fraudulent orders. The existing positive reviews, although few, further support this recommendation.
Verifly ID Verification & KYC is better suited for businesses in regulated industries or those dealing with high-value transactions where verifying customer identity is paramount. However, the complete absence of reviews and detailed information makes it difficult to recommend without further investigation and evidence of its effectiveness and usability. Merchants should carefully consider their specific needs and compliance requirements before opting for Verifly, and should prioritize seeking more information and reviews before making a decision.
