Our Verdict
For merchants prioritizing simplicity and quick setup to start selling digital products immediately, FileJar ‑ Digital Downloads is the better choice. Its focus on ease of use and seamless integration makes it ideal for stores with a smaller catalog or those just beginning with digital downloads. However, LDT Digital Downloads, E‑books is more suitable for merchants seeking a comprehensive solution with advanced features, such as video streaming, PDF encryption, and a customizable download portal. Its mature feature set and higher number of reviews suggest a robust platform capable of handling larger volumes and more complex digital product offerings. Merchants who want a stronger focus on customer experience and branding will prefer LDT.
For merchants deeply concerned about security, LDT's PDF encryption might be the deal breaker. While FileJar mentions fraud detection, LDT adds protection for the downloadable content itself. But for simpler setups, FileJar's ease of integration remains attractive.
