Feedyio: Product XML Feeds vs VDO Product Video Feedfor Shopify (2026)
Feedyio: Product XML Feeds and VDO Product Video Feed, while both listed under 'Product feeds' on Shopify, address vastly different merchant needs. Feedyio focuses on exporting product data to external marketplaces and shopping platforms, enabling broader reach and advertising opportunities. Its strength lies in its comprehensive support for multiple platforms, data formats (XML, CSV, TXT, JSON), and Shopify Markets for multi-language/currency stores. It caters to merchants looking to expand their sales channels beyond their Shopify store. VDO Product Video Feed, conversely, aims to enhance the on-site shopping experience by embedding interactive, shoppable videos directly into the Shopify store, focusing on improving engagement and conversions. VDO's key selling point is its ability to integrate video content seamlessly, allowing customers to add products directly from the video with a floating cart and customizable CTA buttons. It's tailored for merchants prioritizing on-site conversion rate optimization and brand storytelling through video. The apps are differentiated by their core functionality: Feedyio optimizes for off-site visibility and sales through data feeds, while VDO enhances the on-site shopping journey through interactive video. The large difference in review count also indicates that Feedyio has a far larger user base, but this could also indicate that VDO is a much newer app.

Our Verdict
Feedyio is the clear choice for merchants looking to significantly broaden their reach by leveraging external sales channels like Google Shopping, Facebook Marketplace, and price comparison websites. Its robust feed generation capabilities, format support, and multi-language support make it ideal for larger operations or those selling internationally. The larger number of reviews provides more confidence.
VDO Product Video Feed, on the other hand, is best suited for merchants who believe in the power of video marketing and want to create a more engaging and interactive shopping experience directly within their Shopify store. It's particularly effective for showcasing products in action and driving immediate sales. However, given the single review, merchants should approach with caution and thoroughly test the app before committing. If you prioritize on-site optimization and have engaging video content, VDO could be a valuable addition.
