FeedFix | Custom XML Feeds vs Optim Feed ‑ Facebook Catalogfor Shopify (2026)
FeedFix | Custom XML Feeds and Optim Feed - Facebook Catalog both aim to streamline product feed management for Shopify merchants, but they cater to different needs and scales. FeedFix positions itself as a comprehensive solution for multi-channel selling, offering broad compatibility with various marketplaces and advanced customization options. It's designed for merchants seeking to expand their reach across numerous platforms and require robust feed management capabilities, including multi-language, multi-market, and multi-currency support, alongside advanced data filtering. In contrast, Optim Feed focuses on simplicity and ease of use, specifically targeting merchants who primarily need a feed for Facebook Catalogs (with TikTok support coming soon). It offers basic customization and filtering options and emphasizes quick setup, making it ideal for merchants with less complex needs or smaller product catalogs. The key difference lies in the breadth of channel support, customization depth, and scalability, where FeedFix aims to be a one-stop solution, while Optim Feed targets specific channels with simplicity in mind. The sheer number of supported marketplaces and advanced import/export functionalities place FeedFix at a different level from Optim Feed. The ability to create custom feeds and manage multi-currency, multi-language, and multi-market exports gives FeedFix an edge for larger businesses with global operations or merchants planning significant expansion. Optim Feed, with its focus on quick Facebook Catalog generation and basic customization, is suited for smaller stores or those primarily focused on Facebook marketing and seeking a straightforward, no-frills solution. The reviews for FeedFix, while significantly higher in number (80 vs. 11), suggest a more established user base and potentially a wider range of use cases compared to the more specialized Optim Feed.

Our Verdict
For merchants needing to manage product feeds across a wide array of marketplaces and requiring granular control over feed customization, FeedFix | Custom XML Feeds is the clear choice. Its robust feature set, including multi-currency support and advanced data filtering, caters to businesses with complex requirements and international ambitions. However, for Shopify merchants primarily focused on Facebook advertising and seeking a quick and simple solution to generate a Facebook Catalog, Optim Feed - Facebook Catalog is the more suitable option. Its ease of use and targeted functionality makes it ideal for smaller businesses or those with less complex feed management needs.
Ultimately, the decision hinges on the scope of the merchant's marketing strategy and the level of customization required. If a merchant is primarily using Facebook, the simplicity of Optim Feed is advantageous. If a merchant is looking to expand into numerous marketplaces with different languages and currencies, the sophistication of FeedFix is necessary, despite a potentially steeper learning curve.
Common Questions
Which app offers better support for multi-language product feeds?
FeedFix | Custom XML Feeds explicitly states multi-language support, making it the superior choice for merchants selling in multiple languages. Optim Feed - Facebook Catalog does not mention this feature, suggesting it's not a primary focus.
How quickly can I get a product feed up and running with each app?
Optim Feed - Facebook Catalog emphasizes a quick and easy setup, suggesting a feed can be generated within minutes. FeedFix | Custom XML Feeds, while powerful, might require more initial configuration due to its wider range of features and options. However, this ultimately depends on the complexity of the desired feed and the merchant's experience.
Which app is better for handling a very large product catalog?
Optim Feed - Facebook Catalog mentions support for around 100,000 variants, indicating it can handle large catalogs. While FeedFix | Custom XML Feeds doesn't explicitly mention a limit, its focus on comprehensive management suggests it's designed to handle large and complex product inventories effectively.
Can both apps automatically connect to Facebook to update the catalog?
Optim Feed - Facebook Catalog specifically states that it *does not* automatically connect to Facebook to avoid overwriting existing feeds. FeedFix | Custom XML Feeds doesn't explicitly state if it connects automatically. Therefore, neither seem to provide automatic updates and need manual intervention.
Which app provides more control over product data within the feed?
FeedFix | Custom XML Feeds offers significantly more control over product data with its 'powerful data filtering & customization' features, allowing merchants to personalize imported products and control key details like out-of-stock visibility and delivery costs. Optim Feed - Facebook Catalog offers basic customization options, but lacks the depth and breadth of FeedFix.
